When I walked my dog before the sun had set on a different block, I was warned I couldn’t actually walk up this street and should turn around. We looped around and saw tape stretched across the street and police lights. I don’t have Citizen App, so I don’t know what was happening.
Early the next morning, before the sun rose, I was greeted with broken tape around the parked school buses. It was kind of creepy.

The buses are for a religious school, increasing how alarming the police tape is. Seeing it attached to a building when all the buildings on our block touch also feels dangerous.

Obviously I took a bunch of phone pics. Looking at them now, it’s funny to see how it feels like I was trying too hard to capture tape flapping around when maybe the first take where the tape is more calm is actually better. It’s low key dangerous. This isn’t active scene, so why active tape? Other than the danger before sunrise felt real?
Have you ever photographed a crime scene that didn’t look a crime scene at all?
