Beyond the Obstacle

The other day I rented a telephoto sports lens to photograph my daughter’s soccer game. I wanted to get as much use out of the rental as possible, though. The first thing I did was head to practice right after picking up the lens. The next day I realized I should go look for animals because maybe I could use my national park pass as well.

The park that is under federal control locally doesn’t actually require an admission fee and I had volunteered to pick my daughter up from a birthday party on the other side of town (The Bronx instead of JFK), but I wasn’t giving up on parks.

The first park I visited did have Red Wing Black Birds screaming at me right away to alert me to their nest, but I realized maybe I could take pictures to be my new iMac wallpaper. I upgraded to Sequoia and kind of miss the Catalina background. Birding is fun and all, but what am I going to do with bird pictures in my portfolio?

So, as suggested by WordPress, the obstacle was using my rented lens to take pictures that might never see the light of day. I kept an eye out for some macro setups that could become my nature photos instead of Apple’s. I do love them as my wallpaper on the desktop, rotating every hour. I’ll be sure to post more soon! There are more than these two.
