City Life

Your preschool class dons safety vests to hold onto a rope and walk past a 43-foot tall modern sculpture.

Group of Four Trees by Jean Dubuffet

A towering, abstract sculpture made of fiberglass and steel, entirely painted in stark black-and-white patterns that resemble road markings, it was Dubuffet’s first outdoor public sculpture in the United States, according to Mr. Berner’s Neighborhood (I think that’s what AI was crediting).

The sculpture is supposed to look like a sketch come to life. It definitely contrasts with the architecture in One Chase Plaza (or Fosun Plaxa depending how feel).

I had to take a picture for all the contrast starting with the little kids and the tall buildings. How are they and the four trees the only life in this picture? New York is wild.
