This is the first post WordPress gives you to get started. I feel like I’ve deleted this so many times, it’s kind of funny to see it back again simply because I changed the theme again.
My first blog was a Madeline Likes Food. Looking for a link now, I realize that was Blogger. All this time that I’ve been trying to get a WordPress blog going and thinking it’s changed so much. Nope. That was Blogger. https://happiestpuppies.blogspot.com/
I wonder if Blogger sent me warnings that my pictures were all about to disappear unless I paid them or something. It didn’t have a lot of followers, but some people came for the stories while others came for the pictures. Kind of a bummer you can’t see the pictures at all now.
Then I started a blog to show what I was up to after I quit my office job. Then I started one to tell my mom how bad her writing was. She wouldn’t listen to what I was saying, so I put my thoughts on the internet. Then I started one for fashion illustrations, but it included “Glam God I Am Not” in the url, so MTV shut it down. Maybe they had trademarked Glam God. Google isn’t helping me find those as fast.
My brother always wanted to know why I wasn’t on Tumblr. It just wasn’t my thing. Not too long ago I listened to Crush It, a book about how we could all be producing content. That author spoke so emphatically about Tumblr, it made me wonder what I’d missed out on. Wait! I did have a tumblr account. I was posting my retouching work there and trying to see if I could play the game of creating a community there. I didn’t really try.
Hopefully this take will be more enduring. If you are here because I left a comment on your blog, hi! I’m trying to be better about making connections.
