Apparently I drive past at least one Tribeca Pediatrics location all the time. Not this one. Of course, it was the \u201cTap Beer\u201d sign that drew me in.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I happened to be walking back to my car from running an errand in a different neighborhood than usual. I expected the bright blue bricks\u00a0to go along with a \u00a0fun bar. Maybe the beer mug is a bit like Joe Camel\u2014a little too kid-friendly for something that isn’t kid friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supposedly Gen Z gravitates to design styles that are as far from beige Millennial trends as possible, but the use of extreme colors for the super simple fonts on clean backgrounds seems to be splitting the difference. The bright blue exterior has me wondering why the boring brown offices never came up in searches when I needed to switch my kids’ pediatrician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later I spotted this restaurant and wanted to add it here. My first thought was that “Cafe” with all black and yellow was too simple, maybe too generic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had to remove a street parking sign to make this as clean as the set up felt when I took the picture<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Then I went searching for what this place actually is. The awning is folded up to hide the name Lincoln Station. The bright yellow chairs and tables weren’t in pictures before. The commitment to two colors is pushing me to believe this is great design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wouldn’t be mad if everyone started designing in a bright, clean style. It’s like we all live on joyful a movie set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
