As I’ve previously mentioned on this blog, I was disappointed when we moved from a sunny apartment to one that only had 10 minutes of sunlight on a good day. When we moved to our newest place, the lot next door was empty. They picked up the pace on construction in the new year, and I was compelled to document how they were going to thoroughly end any sunlight on the western wall for two houses down. Pictures are from May 23 and June 24.
The placement seems like a kitchen and a bathroom—places that could use an open window. And natural light as you make dinner is always nice to help you figure out how far behind the ball you might be.
The top floor apartments do have skylights. One also has a trampoline on their roof deck. I’m amused if the construction team erected the plywood fence to protect children at play.
If they try to call that new space a 3-bedroom apartment, that would be tight. The new deal is three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and no shared space except a fridge and kitchen sink. They’re not at all designed for families.
