Coming down the stairs to wait for a train to board, I saw a man cleaning his feet on the subway bench while cops casually arrested a man nearby. I didn’t think I should take out my phone. It seemed like a task for AI.
When I switched lines at another station, I took a picture of the empty platform for reference. I’m not playing with real Nano Banana or Deep Seek, though.
I used a version of AI inside Coursiv where it’s not letting me upload reference materials. The third option was probably the best of what it supplied.
I didn’t specify what races for any of the characters in my prompt, only labeling them homeless, police officers, and “a man.” None of the men I witnessed were white. The homeless man wasn’t dirty-looking either. I just decided he had too many bags and was cleaning his feet on the platform, so he must be unhoused.
My attempt just now to get Nano Banana to adjust the races and tidy up the homeless man eliminated the man being arrested, moved everyone to the sidewalk outdoors, and they’re all smiling at each other. Guess I need to keep working on my prompt skills.
