Right after I asked Claude for advice on how to adjust my landing page for booking fitness shoots, I saw a giant poster promoting a local fitness competition. Claude had suggested all these ways to rope in people who are training for competitions, and I know nothing about fitness competitions. I guess luckily a man who felt the need to shut down the public park I wanted to run at for his untrained pitbull forced me to visit the park where the competition poster was hanging.
When I read the poster, I didn’t think they were asking too much: Pull ups, squats, tire flips, burpees, two laps, and running stairs. It was so intense! Your time was supposed to be under 15 minutes to qualify for prize money, but they didn’t cut anyone off. We cheered harder. One competitor who took 25 minutes on his turn actually ran two more laps later with another competitor to motivate him to finish strong.
I sent more than a hundred photos to Flatbush Gladiators and wasn’t sure how they would respond to images of people struggling. They posted them. It was a tough competition. Why hide it?
